Volunteers & Community
Mbonise Cultural concepts is involved in number of community programmes, which allows those with bit of time to participate and contribute in a sustainable way.
The programmes are situated mainly in the Hluhluwe area, Nompondo community which is part of Hlabisa municipality. This is still under developed area with little access to modern development.
However the community here is determined to improve conditions so that people can stay within the area. It is our contribution to our community by offering and inviting volunteers who can contribute in this mission of enhancing modern technology thus preserving the culture and the way of life of the community.
By participating in this program you get the opportunity of understanding the way of life in other parts of the world and this goes a long way in self discovering.
Minimum duration for each project is 2 weeks and maximum is 3 months, however should you wish to stay for shorter or longer period you may arrange with us.
Programmes for Volunteers
1. School Based ProgrammeParticipate in a school base programme, by offering sport, or computer lesson programmes. Volunteers can work with teacher and assist incapacity building on different areas, such as sport, computer lessons or subject area.
You can choose to work in any o the 3 Primary schools in the Nompondo or a local High school adjescing Hluhluwe Game reserve.
Guest can also contribute with physical support such as face lifting of the school or crèche, by providing and do painting with the local people.
All contribution for support goes directly to the school of your choice.
2. Community GardenYou can participate in the economic development projects such as the community garden, this could be by offering physical support or high technology to improve the production as the means of reducing poverty.
Where to Stay
No charges for participating as volunteers, you pay for your own cost for transport, meals and lodging.
Mdaka Homestead situatated in Community and we offer special rates for volunteers.
